A Chara,
My name is Tom McHugh and I’m a Corofin man. On Sunday I will be in Parnell Park wearing my heart on my sleeve as we bid overcome a St Gall’s team that is admired and highly respected west of the Shannon. My feeling is that we will have a contest that will go to the wire. I was thinking that in advance of the game some of your club members might like to get a sense of who, where and what Corofin GAA club is all about.

Last year to commemorate the 125th year of the GAA my siblings and I, in a totally private capacity undertook a project to take-in a game in every county in the country with our children. We created a website www.fatherandsondays.ie to record our experiences. 2009 was (- All-Ireland semi final loss to Kilmacud excepted!) a very successful year for Corofin, so several of the team’s games feature on our pictorial reports on our website. Your members may find these of interest?

Visit www.fatherandsondays.ie and go to Match reports.

Looking forward to a cracking game on Saturday and praying fervently that our Saffron and Greens are the best team on the day.

Mise le meas

Tom Mc Hugh

Cross Eyed & Spied

The big freeze continues and all the associated problems especially for the footballers and hurlers securing training facilities. And if you're going out, to the club for a beer perhaps, make sure to put on a big coat, you'll appreciate it when you're going home. But what if you haven't got a big coat I hear you ask? Well one individual has found a way around this, just take someone else's coat! Even if it doesn't fit and the other person has to go home cold.
